Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Wednesday said that Pakistan would have 68 dams if rulers built one dam in a year but no initiative taken so far. He pointed out development on new dams in neighbouring country that India is speedily constructing 23 new dams which would result severe water shortage in Pakistan and all agricultural areas would turn into wastelands.

He strongly criticised the government over closing eyes before the upcoming dangers to Pakistan as the rulers have not envisage future plans. He urged construction of at least 100 new dams in Pakistan and he questioned delay in development work on Bhasha Dam if controversies barricaded construction of Kala Bagh Dam.

JI has supported ongoing dialogues between Afghan government and Taliban. He added that the negotiation phase must be continued even if Mullah Umar is no more, he said.

Sirajul Haq was addressing Eid Milan Party organised in Railway Club by Jamaat-e-Islami Rawalpindi chapter here on Wednesday.

He said that the rulers are unserious to bring nation out of atrocities, injustice and exploitation. He highlighted three major issues pushing the country on backward direction that include load shedding, unemployments and unpeaceful situation.

He expressed strong hopes of emergence of Islamic Pakistan soon as it is the only state in the World which established on basis of an ideology and a faith. He urged Pakistanis to express confidence over patriotic eligible leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in order to get rid of all issues and to change fates.
