KARACHI: Pakistan will celebrate February 27 as the ‘Surprise Day’ to pay a tribute to the last years’ retaliatory attack by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) following India’s failed airstrike in Balakot.
PAF had shot down two Indian Air Force fighter jets inside the occupied Kashmir on Feb 27 last year.
During the PAF action described as the Operation Swift Retort, it also dropped bombs in the Indian military facilities.
During the operation, the Pakistani forces captured Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
Later, Pakistan as a ‘good will gesture’ returned the captured pilot to India.
