Pakistan tighten grip over second test match as Bangladesh lost five wickets

DHAKA: Pakistan bowling squad compelled Bangladesh bating line-up to stagger in first inning of second test match as five batsmen sent to pavilion at the end of the day. The Bengal tigers scored 107 runs.

Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan and his cousin leg break spin bowler Yasir Shah took two wickets each while Wahab Riyaz got one wicket.

Imrul Kayes and Mahmudullah were top scores from Bangladesh with scores of 32 and 28 respectively others players could not score significant runs.

Bangladesh have to make more 251 runs to avoid follow-on.

Earlier, Pakistani team had declared first inning on score 557 on loss of eight wickets while the team performance remained brilliant in second day of  second test match against Bangladesh as team vice-captain, Azhar Ali, scored his maiden double century and another batsman Asad Shafiq made century.

Younis Khan had scored his 29th century of his career on yesterday and leveled Australian great batsman Sir Donald Bradman.

Azhar ALI played 406 balls for his double century and hit 19 boundaries and a six in the process. Meanwhile, Asad Shafiq completed his sixth Test century for Pakistan.

The green shirts  have scored a mammoth first innings and the pitch has started to wear out and a result can be expected in the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium.

The Bengal tigers bowler Taijul Islam took three wickets while Muhammad Shahid and Shuvagata Hom got two wickets each.

The first Test ended in a draw in Khulna last week.
