Pakistan takes measures for direct talks between Taliban, Afghan govt

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan is making utmost efforts for the direct talks between Afghan government and Taliban.    

He was talking to Tajik Parliamentary delegation in Islamabad on Wednesday. He said peace in Afghanistan is vital for peace in Pakistan and the world at large.

The President said Pakistan desires cordial relations with all its neighbors including India. He said Pakistan wants resolution of all outstanding disputes with India including Jammu and Kashmir through negotiations.

The President said Pakistan is ready for cooperation with Tajikistan in different fields including the defense.
