ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has suspended re-admission agreements with Western countries except United Kingdom because of its blatant misuse said Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday.

‘Under re-admission agreements, Pakistanis travelling illegally to any Western country were to be deported after proper verification. However, most of the countries are deporting them without verification by Pakistani authorities, and last year alone 90,000people were sent back to Pakistan,’ he said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

The minister said for the last several months another dangerous trend had emerged under which Pakistanis travelling abroad without documents were being deported on charges of terrorism without verification whether or not they were actually Pakistanis.

To a query, the interior minister said India’s true face stood exposed before the international community because of recent acts of violence against minorities especially Muslims.

Nisar Ali Khan said during prime minister’s visit to the United States, it was conveyed to the US leadership that there were double standards, as much hue and cry was raised on minor issues in Pakistan but the world community including the United States keeps mum over burning alive of Muslims in India.
