ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations and targeting of a school van in Nakial sector.
According to a statement of the Foreign Office, firing by the Indian occupation forces from across the Line of Control in the Nakial sector caused martyrdom of an innocent civilian and injuries to four school children.
Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr. Mohammad Faisal, summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner at the Foreign Office and said deliberate targeting of civilians, villages and civilian transport and school van was condemnable.
He said it was contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws.
The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding and investigate the recent incident and similar ceasefire violations.
Pakistan asked the diplomat to instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the LoC.
