ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Asif Bajwa has suggested to abandon hockey, which is the national sport of Pakistan.
The National Assembly’s standing committee on inter-provincial coordination met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Aga Hassan Baloch.
During the meeting, the PHF secretary suggested to give up the hockey sports over non-availability of funds.
Terming the hockey as one of the worlds’ expensive sports, it was said that the players’ quota had been reduced to one per cent. The universities have stopped offering scholarships and admissions on the basis of hockey in the country.
