ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday delivered policy statement that Pakistan favoured resolution of Yemen crisis through holding negotiations.

PM Nawaz Sharif made statement for clarifying policy of Pakistan regarding strife-torn Yemen. He announced that the country wanted peaceful resolution of ongoing Yemen crisis.

He reiterated that Pakistan would stand besides Saudi Arabia in every tough time on its integrity. He said that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was an important strategic partner and Pakistan would strictly respond against any attack against territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

However, the statement has shattered all rumours spreading about secret agreement of military deployment between Pakistani government and Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces fighting against Houthi rebels in war-torn Yemen.

He urged the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for removing all doubts about Pakistani policies and their frustration occurred due to a miscommunication in the interpretation of the stand of our Parliament.

PM Nawaz said that President Mansur Hadi’s government will be important to maintain peace and stability in Yemen.
