JI to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Feb 5 across the world

LAHORE: The Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded that if the governments of Pakistan and China wanted India to join the CPEC, they must ensure the solution of the issues of Kashmir and river waters dispute between Pakistan and India before making such move.

The demand was voiced by the JI Secretary Liaqat Baloch at a press conference at Islamabad at which JI Azad Kashmir Chief Abdur Rashid Turabi was also present.

Liaqat Baloch announced that the Kashmir Solidarity Day would be observed all over the world on February 5 in order to draw the world attention to gross human rights violations being committed by Indian occupation forces in Held Kashmir for the last seven decades.

 He said that a national Kashmir Solidarity Conference would be held in the federal capital on January 31 which would be chaired by JIP chief Senator Sirajul Haq, at which prominent leaders from different political  and religious parties would address.

On February 5, a grand Kashmir Solidarity rally would be organized at Muzaffarabad. It would be led by JI Azad Kashmir chief while Ameer, JIP, Senator Sirajul Haq, will address the rally as the special guest.

Liaqat Baloch said the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle had been intensified with the martyrdom of Muzaffar Wani by the Indian troops early last year. All schools, colleges and universities in Held Kashmir had been closed since then and curfew had been continuing. The Kashmiris were burying their martyrs in the Pakistani flag.

As such, it was the moral duty of the Pakistani nation to rise in total support of the Kashmiris freedom movement and added that the Kashmiris stood united under Syed Ali Gilani’s leadership. .

He stressed upon the Pakistan government to carry on a vigorous campaign at diplomatic front to arouse the world conscience against the brutalities of Indian troops and stop trade besides friendship talk with India till the solution of the core issue of Kashmir.

The JI Secretary General said that half a million Kashmiris had embraced martyrdom for the liberation of Kashmir, ten thousand Kashmiri women had been disgraced by the Indian brutes while more than seven thousand Kashmir youth had been killed under detention. He said the Kashmiris would not accept any other option except total freedom from India’s hold.
