Armed forces of the country are fully prepared to take up any challenge and will effectively respond to any external attempted aggression, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen Asim Bajwa said here Thursday.

Talking to the media, he said that Indian troops along the line of control had opened fire at around 0200 hours on Thursday.

Pakistani troops effectively responded to the unprovoked firing from across the LoC and the enemy guns were silenced at 0800 hours.

Saluting to the martyrs, who had embraced shahadat following unprovoked Indian firing, the DG ISPR said that the claim for carrying out surgical strike by India is all absurd, baseless and unfounded.

“Baseless and unfounded propaganda never have proofs,” he said.

“We have verified the facts and found nothing substantial in the Indian claim for strike,” he said.

In reply to a question, he said that Pakistan Armed forces enjoy full backing and prayers of the entire nation. “We have been achieving successes in the ongoing strides against terrorism and with the same spirit and zeal any aggression from across will be responded.”

He told a questioner that such Indian attempt tantamount to provocation and if continued will attract response in an effective and matchless manner.
