Pakistan announce one-day squad for West Indies series

Lahore: Pakistan Sunday announced a 16-man squad for the three-match one-day series against the West Indies starting in the United Arab Emirates on Friday.

Chief Selector, Inzamam ul Haq, in consultation with the National Selection Committee has finalized the 16 member Pak one day team for the 3 ODIs against West Indies in UAE.

“While picking the squad, the team management and skipper were consulted and all concerned gave their consent in this regard,” said a spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board here on Sunday.

Pakistan Team will play Three ODIs against West Indies on September 30 and October 2 at Sharjah and October 5 at Abu Dhabi.

“Chairman PCB, Shaharyar M Khan has announced that Sarfraz Ahmad will be the Vice Captain of the ODI Team,” he said.

Azhar Ali will lead the squad.

Squad: Azhar Ali (captain), Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim,  Yasir Shah, Rahat Ali, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Sohail Khan.

On Saturday Pakistan beat West Indies by 16 runs in their second Twenty20 in Dubai, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.
