LAHORE: Chairman, Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFBB), Shoukat Javed has expressed the optimism that Pakistan women baseball will produce good results in the VII WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup being played from September 3 in Gijang City, South Korea.
He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the national women baseball training camp for the buildup of the team for World Cup here on Thursday .
Shoukat Javed said it was a big honour for Pak women team to qualify for the mega event and expressed the optimism that it will show consistency in the cup by putting up impressive show.
“We provided the best possible training to our Korea bound team during the camp under the able guidance of foreign coach “, he said.
He advised the player to do their best and be good ambassadors of their country during their stay in Korea.
The participating teams of the Cup are, Holland, Venezuela, India, Cuba, USA, Australia, Pakistan, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Canada, Hong Kong and hosts South Korea .
Chairman, PFBB, thanked the Vice Chancellor, Imperial University Prof. Dr Ijaz Ahmad who was present on the occasion for assisting the team and holding its training camp in their campus free of cost.
This gesture will go a long way in the promotion of women baseball in the country.
President, PFBB ,Syed Khawar Shah and Secretary, Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
