ISLAMABAD: The anlaysts welcoming the Pak-Qatar Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) deal between the two countries said it would help overcome energy crisis and bring econmic prosperity in the country.
Former General Manager Sui Southern Gas, Brigadier Agha Gul talking to a private news channel said the deal was initiated in 2004 but credit goes to the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who finalized it.
“People who have know how of the energy crisis will term this project as light at the end of the tunnel”, he remarked.
Agha said the deal was made at a time when petroleum prices are reduced in international market which would benifit Pakistan.
Political analyst Khalid Khursheed commenting on the deal said Pakistan was going through severe energy crisis and it (deal) should be welcomed unanimously by all political leadership in better national interest.
He said the government has convinced the opposition that LNG is not being purchased on high prices as projected in the media.
An economist Farhan was optimistic that the deal would not only help resolve energy crisis but also strengthen economic relationship between the two brotherly countries.
