PAF promotes two officers

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government on Monday promoted two officers of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), including Air Vice Marshal Farooq Habib to the rank of Air Marshal and Air Commodore Muhammad Khalid Dabir to the rank of Air Vice Marshal.

Air Marshal Farooq Habib was commissioned in the GD (P) Branch of PAF in June, 1982. During his career, he has commanded a fighter squadron, an operational air base and served as Commandant, Air War College, Faisal. He has been on deputation to Saudi Arabia. His staff appointments include Deputy Director Operations Branch and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Safety) at Air Headquarters. Presently, he is performing his duties as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training) at Air Headquarters.

He is a qualified flying instructor and a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and National Defence University. He holds Master’s Degrees in Strategic Studies and Defence & Strategic Studies. He is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).

Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khalid Dabir was also commissioned in GD (P) Branch in November, 1985. He is a qualified flying instructor. During his illustrious career, he has commanded a fighter squadron and an operational air base.  He has also served as Director (GD) Group and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel-Officers) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.  He has served as Secretary to Chief of the Air Staff and also served in Saudi Arabia on deputation.

He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College, National Defence University and Armed Forces Staff College (Malaysia). He holds Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies and a Diploma in Strategic & Defence Studies (Malaysia). He is a recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
