Opposition to hold APC in Islamabad today

It is time for Opposition party leaders to show unity and strength of power as they are set to attend an All Parties Conference in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

The APC was summoned upon the behest of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.

A 10-member delegation of the former ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will attend the session, under party leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, sources informed.

PML-N leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal and heads of provincial factions will also be a part of the delegation to attend the APC session.

Sources said from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Muqan, Rana Sanaullah from Punjab, Abdul Qadir Baloch from Balochistan and Shah Mohammad Shah from Sindh will attend the APC.

Pakistan People’s Party announced a five-member delegation for the meeting, however, whether party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is to attend the session or not will be decided in the party’s parliamentary leaders’ meeting today.

Baloch National Party-Mengal will not attend the opposition huddle. As according to the latest updates, the government approached its coalition partner after which it declined the offer to attend the APC.

Maulana Fazl had also extended invitation to Hasil Bizenjo, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Mahmood Achakzai, Asfandyar Wali and Aftab Sherpao.

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal leaders Sajid Naqvi, Sajid Mir, Shah Owais Noorani have also been invited.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman announced to host an APC on June 26.

The conference will host the representatives of opposition parties at Islamabad to formulate a joint strategy for future course-of-action against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Fazl convened the APC after consultation with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, sources said.

The opposition parties will consult on the change of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, preventing the budget from getting passed from both houses, anti-government movement and a possible lockdown of the capital city in the APC.

The opposition leaders decided to convene an APC in an Iftar dinner hosted by the PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
