National Assembly approves long-awaited 26th constitutional amendment bill

ISLAMABAD: The opposition has started mulling the option of in-house change.

The PPP has suggested that the in-house change should be brought in phases. The process should be started from the Senate as the opposition has a majority in the upper house. After success in the Senate, a no-confidence motion should be moved against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

On the other hand, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khurshid Shah and Shahida Akhtar Ali held a meeting with the PML-Q delegation.

During the meeting, the opposition had requested to the PML-Q to quit alliance with the government. The PML-Q was also requested not to support the government on the electoral reform bill.

The PML-Q had assured the opposition that it will not support the electoral reform bill.
