KARACHI: Sindh Assembly session on Monday adjourned till tomorrow after opposition protested against what they call provincial government’s delaying tactics in tabling resolution on extending Rangers’ exclusive powers in Karachi.
The opposition members were of the views that the resolution on granting extension to Rangers’ additional powers should have been made top agenda in the session.
However, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) did not join the protest.
The protesting opposition chanted slogans against both the provincial government and MQM.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the matter pertaining to Rangers’ policing powers would be resolved amicably.
Criticising the opposition behavior, the chief minister said that they have violated the sanctity of the assembly.
