Operation Zarb-e-Azb to be continued for terror free Pakistan: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: One year of operation Zarb-e-Azam has been completed. Pakistani forces have received significant achievements against the militant during the operation. Army is going to head towards cities where some terrorists escaped. In the next and conclusive phase of the operation army would flush out terrorists in cities. ISPR said in a statement that the operation would be continued to make a terror free Pakistan.

In the last one year of the operation forces demolished terrorists’ strongholds, communication infrastructure and sanctuaries in KP.

Pakistani security forces had killed 2763 militants, 837 hide out destroyed and 253 tons explosive recovered in the operation so far. ISPR said in a statement that 347 officers and soldiers had been died in the operation.

ISPR said in a statement that 9000 Intelligence-Based Operations apprehended thousand terrorists, abettors and killed 218 hard core terrorists in cities. 18087 weapons including Heavy Machine Guns, Light Machine gun, sniper rifles, rocket launcher, AK-47s recovered from terrorists hideouts in North Waziristan Agency.
