PESHAWAR: The city district administration arrested 14 shopkeepers during operation against encroachments and overcharging in the city here on Sunday.
In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Riaz Khan Mehsud, Additional Assistant Commissioner, Bashir Ahmed along with officials of the city district administration conducted operation against encroachments and overcharging in Gulberg area of the provincial capital Peshawar.
During operation the district administration team arrested 12 shopkeepers over illegally occupying the government land in front of their shops while owners of two chicken shops were apprehended for overcharging against the rate fixed by the district administration.
The raiding team also shopkeepers to avoid overcharging and remove the encroachments otherwise get ready for stern action.
