KARACHI: A consumer protection court in Karachi’s District East has fined a shop selling online clothes over delivery of old and torn wardrobes.
The petitioner had taken a stand in the petition filed in the court that she was delivered torn and old clothes instead of new ones. “I had ordered the clothes on the occasion of Culture Day but could not attend the function due to delivery of torn wardrobes,” she added.
The court imposed a total fine of Rs 30,000 on the shop selling clothes online and also ordered to provide the consumer with a new wardrobe.
The court said in its order that if the fine is not paid, further fine can be imposed. People consult to the courts for justice and those who commit online fraud will not get any exemption, it added.
