ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry, the information minister said on Tuesday that the ongoing National Assembly session would approve the mini-budget.

Briefing the media here on the decisions made by the federal Cabinet, the information minister said that he could not share details about the coming mini-budget. However, he said that the budget would not affect the common man.

Fawad invited the opposition parties to suggest the government any workable  options if they have besides resuming the $6 billion IMF progamme.

Earlier in the day, a Finance Ministry spokesperson had said that there will be no new tax on items used by the common man in the coming mini budget.

Speaking on a Geo News show, Finance Ministry Spokesperson Muzammil Aslam had said that rising prices in the global market had increased current account deficit and increased debt due to the corona epidemic of several countries.

He said that there is inflation all over the world but we are trying to manage and in 6 months the prices of food and drink have brought down. But, the prices of imported items have increased.

The spokesperson said that no burden has been placed on the common man in the mini budget.
