KARACHI: A teenage boy died of dengue fever in the city on Wednesday, taking the death toll caused by dengue to nine in Sindh.
The 18-year-old Shah Nawaz was admitted to a government hospital for treatment but the disease proved fatal. He was a resident of Sheedi Goth Malir.
It is pertinent to mention here that last year at least 1,295 cases of dengue fever were reported from Sindh. Of them, 1,277 victims belonged to Karachi.
While there were 17 dengue patients who died last year, the death toll this year has reached nine.
