KARACHI: An oil tanker caught fire at Super Highway, under mysterious circumstances, Friday morning and took little time in turning into ashes, rescue sources told APP.
KMC Sohrab Goth Fire Brigade Station despatched two of its fire engines to the site, immediately after receiving the report, however, due to intensity of the blaze the loss could not be avoided.
The task was said to had turned all the more difficult as the tanker contained considerable amount of oil, however till filing of the report fire was fully doused and cooling process was underway.
According to available details the oil tanker was parked at Ansar post near Kalhoro off Super Highway when caught fire due to reason yet to be ascertained.
The driver of the tanker escaped unhurt as despite being on the seat managed to jump out as soon as the fire engulfed the vehicle.
According to Edhi Foundation volunteers two of the men attempting to douse the fire, on the site, received minor injuries.
It was also mentioned that two other oil tankers parked nearby were partly damaged as the concerned drivers moved these away swiftly from the site.
