NEW YORK: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Iyad Bin Amin Madani called on United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon at the UN Headquarters and expressed concern over the brutalities of the Indian forces in the Occupied Kashmir.

During the meeting, the OIC Secretary-General highlighted the Kashmir issue including grave human rights violations by the occupation forces in Indian-held Kashmir.

He demanded the UN Secretary General to use its influence to stop the Indian atrocities in Kashmir. Madani further renewed support to the right of self-determination for Kashmiri people and said it was an international and legitimate issue.

Previously, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group held a meeting on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly last week to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
