Obama should not increase our problems, says Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to prime minister on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz on Monday said Pakistan had given great sacrifices in war on terror and added that United States president Barack Obama should not increase their problems.

He said that the government has taken a number of decisive steps on the internal and external fronts to meet the security challenges.

He was winding up discussion on an adjournment motion moved by Mushahid Hussain Syed, about the US President’s remarks that instability will continue for decades in Pakistan.

Sartaj Aziz pointed out that operation Zarb-e-Azb in the tribal areas and operation against criminals in Karachi have helped improve the overall security situation in the country.

He urged President Obama to analyze the role played by the US and its allies in regional instability.

He said the democratic process is taking roots in the country which is the best answer against any instability.

On the external front, the Advisor on Foreign Affairs said the country’s policy of non-interference in the matters of other countries has contributed to improve relations with Afghanistan and India.
