ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has remarked that our country is an Islamic republic but nothing is happening here according to Islam.
The Supreme Court heard the plot allotment case in Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation. Justice Faiz Issa said that we bring revolution overnight. The country is an Islamic republic but nothing is happening here according to Islam.
He remarked that the prime minister allocates two two plots at his discretion and who is the prime minister who gives such plots? There is no principle of allotment of plots in the country, he observed.
Justice Qazi Faiz Issa remarked that it is read in the newspapers that the secretary was given two plots. Only big people get plots in the country, no one gives to the poor and people in the slums.
Justice Qazi Faiz Issa asked the lawyer of Housing Foundation if they do not give two plots to senior officers.
Petitioner’s counsel contended that earlier two plots were given but no one got two plots after 2006 and the petitioner built a house on the plot and now it is being taken back from them.
Justice Qazi Faiz Issa said that you had another plot earlier so it is being taken back from you. After which the Supreme Court rejected the petitioner’s request to return the plot.
Last year, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered to hand over Askari Park to the KMC in two weeks in Karachi.
In the Supreme Court Karachi registry, then Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard a case in which the administrator Karachi and a counsel for Corps-V appeared.
The Chief Justice asked the administrator about report.
Murtaza Wahab told the court that the report had been filed according to which the agreement was reached in 2005.
The lawyer told the court that there was a 99-year agreement, on which Justice Qazi Amin said that he should return the Askari Park land.
The Chief Justice remarked that the land was given to you so that no one occupied it.
Justice Qazi Amin remarked that you are laying down your lives for the country. We value these sacrifices, he added.
He observed:” We are directing you to return the land to KMC in two weeks.”
