No one to escape accountability: Sirajul Haq

PESHAWAR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the eyes of the entire nation were focused on the Supreme Court and no one could escape accountability now.

Talking to newsmen at Peshawar on Tuesday during a brief visit, he said that every child in the country was talking of ruthless accountability, therefore, all those involved in the Panama leaks and those devouring bank loans must be taken to task.

Earlier, he had a meeting with the JI ministers in the provincial capital. They included Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan and Finance Minister Muzaffar said.

He said the apex court was currently hearing the most important case of the country’s history and if the court played its historic role at this juncture, the country would be put on the track of progress, prosperity and democracy.

He said that corruption had become a cancer but if it was wiped out, all economic and social problems facing the country and the masses could be resolved.

Sirajul Haq said he had directed the JI members in the provincial cabinet to fully cooperate with the PTI for creating a corruption free atmosphere and ensuring social and political justice.

Earlier, the JI chief visited the residence of late ANP leader and former provincial minister Haji Adeel , who expired the other day and offered his condolences with the bereaved family. He paid homage to the departed leader  and said the deceased was a true Pakistani, and a leader of the  Pakhtuns.
