KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has barred secretaries, Director Generals and project heads from taking unnecessary holidays while quoting Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s piece of advice, work, work and work.
The Chief Minister chaired a session of secretaries of different departments in Sindh Secretariat Thursday.
He was briefed on development projects and schemes underway in different parts of the province. While addressing the participants, the Chief Minister said that the government would not tolerate below-standard work in any subordinate department
Shah stated that all promotions and transfers would be made on merit. He warned the departments of strict action if progress is not up to the mark.
Chief Secretary was resented in matter involving 60 missing government vehicles and he was ordered by the Chief Minister to take steps to recover the vehicles.
The Chief Minister while going from home to Chief Minister Secretariat saw the standing water near Arts Council and directed for removing the dirty water from the road. He made it clear that he would issue instructions for once and if no action is taken, then concerned officials would be taken to task.
