No holiday on Iqbal Day across Sindh: education minister

KARACHI: Sindh education minister Nisar Khoro announced that all private and government educational institutions will remain open on ‘Allama Iqbal Day’ tomorrow.

Nisar Khoro urged educators and students to ensure attendance in all educational sessions, whereas, he advised teachers to organise ceremonies in remembrance of the Great Poet Dr. Muhammad Iqbal alias Allama Iqbal.

In Sindh, Schools, colleges and other offices will remain open while in KP the Peshawar High Court registrar has announced that all the subordinate courts in the province will remained closed on Nov 9.

For the first time there will be no public holiday on the eve of Iqbal Day today in three provinces including Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a public holiday on the day.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Peshawar University has announced that the university campus and all the affiliated colleges will be closed, however, examinations will be held as per schedule.
