No Friday prayers, congregational prayers in mosques until April 5 in Sindh: govt

Karachi: There will be no Friday prayers (juma prayers) and congregational prayers in mosques from March 27 to April 5 in entire Sindh, a provincial government spokesperson says on Thursday night.

This has been announced by Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab on his Twitter account.

He said that only three to five people (imam, muazzan etc of a mosque) will be allowed to offer Friday and congregational prayers.

Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that despite restrictions the mosques would remain open and prayer call would also be recited as usual.
