MIAMI: World number one Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round of the ATP and WTA Miami Open on Friday by defeating Britain’s 87th-ranked Kyle Edmund 6-3, 6-3.
The 28-year-old Serbian star, seeking his third Miami crown in a row and fourth title of the year, will next face Portugal’s Joao Sousa.
Djokovic captured his 11th Grand Slam singles crown in January at the Australian Open and has also won at Doha and Indian Wells in 2016.
