Karachi: National Labour Federation (NLF) President Khalid Khan on Wednesday demanded of the labour minister to resign for failing to address the problems being faced by the labourers.

He made this demand while addressing to the labourers observing hunger strike under the auspices of the National Labour Federation (NLF) at the Karachi Press Club here.

He said that the ministry of labour was siding with the factory owners instead of the workers.

The ministry had earlier talked about the job security and payment of salaries in its order but later in another statement there was no mention of them, giving a benefit to the owners.

Khalid said that the NLF was standing with the labourers.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami, Karachi, Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged the government to ensure restoration of jobs of the labourers lost work in the wake of lockdown as well as employment and payment of salaries of the workers of various departments.
