Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has taken notice of immigration issue to a blacklisted US citizen Mathew.
The minister directed the concerns authorities to constitutes an inquiry committee headed by secretary of the ministry. He also sought out the report within 24 hours.
Nisar directed to constitute a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the matter. the committee consisting officers of FIA, IB and ISI officers. SP Investigation Captain retired Ilyas will lead the team.
Two FIA personnel deputed on immigration desk at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad have been arrested and an Assistant Director and other staff suspended.
The Interior Minister also directed to take action against officials of Pakistani consulate in Hosten, who issued visa to the American citizen.
The American citizen “Mathew” was arrested in the past for spying the nuclear installations and deported from the country with the charge of violation of laws and suspicious activities.
