Nisar slams Sindh govt over delay in Rangers’ extension

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Saturday strongly criticised the provincial government of Sindh over making delay in extension of period for exclusive powers of Rangers busy in Karachi Operation against criminals and terrorists across the metropolis.

Nisar while addressing a crucial press conference in Islamabad today slammed the Sindh government over unnecessary delay in extending period of exclusion powers given to Rangers in Karachi.

He said that conspiracies are being made to defame efforts of Rangers which bettered law and order situation in metropolis.

Nisar announced that Karachi would not let be given away in hands of criminals and terrorists. He added that Karachi citizens are backing security forces to conduct Karachi Operation. He clarified that Rangers would not be left alone in deteriorated situation. He praised efforts of the law enforcement agency for bringing visible betterment in law and order situation in Karachi.

The interior minister alleged that concerns are being raised over Karachi operation just ‘to save one person.’ He reminded that former president Asif Ali Zardari had delivered harsh words against security forces in 2013. Nisar claimed that he criticised Zardari at that time too. Moreover, he announced to respond through evidences but not only by statements.

He urged authorities to be united in national interests after putting aside all internal conflicts. He said that Rangers have taken responsibility to make Karachi streets calm and secure.
