PAKTIKA: At least nine people were killed and a dozen wounded in a militant attack during a sports match in playground in Paktika province of Afghanistan.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.
It came on the same day 300 fighters attacked checkpoints in Nangarhar.
The provincial police chief said children were among the injured in the attack in Paktika, close to the Pakistan border.
“The enemy had placed explosives on a motorbike and detonated it on the edge of the volleyball playground,” said Zarawar Zahid.
