It looks like Samsung have shut down its camera division as new report suggest that Nikon might bought its NX mirrorless camera technology.

Much has been said and written about the future of Samsung’s camera division over the past few weeks with some even claiming that the company is going to shut down this division altogether and transfer the staff to work on cameras for mobile devices.

Earlier today the company confirmed that it’s shutting down its camera and camcorder business in the United Kingdom and now it’s being rumored that Samsung may have sold its NX mirrorless camera technology to Nikon.

Nikon needs no introduction, it has been a force in the camera industry for a very long time, and it would actually make sense for the company to purchase the technology from Samsung if the Korean giant no longer as any interest in making consumer cameras.

As per rumours suggest that Nikon has acquired all of Samsung’s NX technology and that this acquisition may be publicly confirmed at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 next month.

It has already been rumored that Samsung is due to make a major camera-related announcement at CES 2016, perhaps this is what the company has in store for us. There has been no comment on this rumor as yet from either Nikon or Samsung.
