Night curfew to continue in Kishtwar town

In occupied Kashmir, District Magistrate Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana has said that the night curfew will continue in Kishtwar town.

In continuation to the order issued by District Magistrate (DM) on April 17, the night curfew shall remain imposed in Kishtwar town and its adjoining peripheries, said an order issued by the District Magistrate.

Besides, prohibitory orders also banning assembly of more than four persons will remain in force in the town and adjoining areas as a precautionary measure, the order read further.

Curfew was imposed in Kishtwar after RSS leader, Chanderkant Sharma, and his personal security officer (PSO) were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the town inside the premises of the district hospital on April 09. The curfew during day time was lifted a few days later but the night curfew still remains imposed in the town.

Following the killing of Chanderkant Sharma, and his PSO, police have arrested several persons during house raids in Kishtwar district.

Meanwhile, the members of Hindu extremist organizations are harassing the Muslim community and peace loving people in the district.
