LAHORE: A newly constructed bridge on canal collapsed prior its opening ceremony on Monday.
Sources said that bridge on Khanpur Canal near Sheikhupura was recently constructed at cost of millions of rupees. During used of substandard material the construction of the bridge, it suddenly came down.
The bridge was yet to be inaugurated but it destroyed prior inauguration ceremony. An investigation has been kicked off against the contractor of the bridge.
