The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed a new window for the Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s 10th edition next year.
The proposal was tabled during a meeting chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
As per the proposal, Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament would begin after the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy. The tournament would run from April 08 to May 20.
This means it is set to collide with the Indian Premier League, which would see many renowned names opting for cash-rich IPL.
The organizers say that the proposed window has been carefully considered to account for players’ convenience, workload management, and other commitments.
This adjustment aims to ensure optimal performance and availability of players during the tournament.
Additionally, the PCB has provided all franchises with the opportunity to sign a marquee player within the next one to two months.
Moreover, report suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board is also willing to offer financial assistance to the franchises for signing a marquee player.
The PCB has also presented franchises with various proposals to facilitate the process of contracting marquee players and managing the tournament effectively.
