Indian authorities have resorted to yet another tactic to block the entry of Indian occupied Kashmiri people below thirty years of age intending to visit Pakistan for education or to meet their relatives in the country.
According to Kashmir Media Service, even those people who have valid visas are forced to get a clearance certificate from police before embarking on the trip. The clearance certificate is being used as a tool to prevent the entry of the youth to Pakistan.
“Any youth between the age group of 18-30 years, who intends to go to Pakistan on valid visa, should get clearance slip from the concerned district SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) or FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office),” a media report quoting a “confidential report prepared by police” has said.
For this, an excuse is being crafted that “local youth of valley are being sent to Pakistan on valid documents, where they are being trained in camps and then sent back through LoC (Line of Control)”. However, defense and political analysts have rejected the accusation saying India has failed to provide any such proof, and also it is almost impossible for the youth to cross over the LoC while it has been electrically fenced, they argued.
“This is a lame excuse whose sole objective is to prevent the entry of Kashmiri people to Pakistan,” said a political analyst from Srinagar on condition of anonymity.
