New BIEK chairman: Hafiz Naeem demands provincial govt to withdraw notification

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chapter Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the provincial government to withdraw its notification regarding the appointment of a bureaucrat on a slot of new Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem said that the educationists and intellectuals are in great sense of anxiety over the appointment of new Chairman BIEK, as the appointed bureaucrat did not link with any educational background.

He said that the newly appointed Chairman BIEK was served as Additional Secretary Sindh for Education and Secretary for Sindh Governor adding that he was not enjoyed a prestigious reputation in his service and also well-known for nepotism, corruption and use authority out of his limits.

Hafiz Naeem termed the said decision of Sindh Government “regrettable” and condemnable and tantamount to engulf the right of deserve educationist and intellectual.

He further said that the authorities concerned of the provincial government did not published any advertisement regarding the appointment of new Chairman BIEK which is a sheer violation of rules and regulations.

He further demanded of the provincial government to appoint any deserving personality on the post of Chairman BIEK after the retirement of incumbent Chairman BIEK Anwar Ahmed Zai.
