KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday said the situations had changed after 9/11 and the threats of internal and external terrorism are looming over the country, therefore, the establishment of 10 new anti-terrorism courts in Karachi was in connection to uproot the causes of terrorism.
‘Usual measures are not enough to counter unusual conditions. Numerous heart-wrenching incidents took place in the country in which precious innocent lives were lost including of police and lawyers,’ he said while addressing the stone-laying ceremony of an anti-terrorism court in Karachi Central Jail.
He said it should be ensured that speedy and cheap justice is provided to the people. He also thanked the Sindh government for allotting funds for establishment of new courts and residencies of judges.
