KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Monday alleged that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (Nepra) hearing into public complaints against the K-Electric was sabotaged under a planned conspiracy, providing a protection to the power distribution company.
Pleading a public case during the Nepra hearing at a local hotel, the JI leader demanded immediate cancellation of the KE’s licence, its nationalisation and forensic audit.
Hafiz Naeem urged strict action against the management of K-Electric and the politicians involved in the conspiracy to sabotage the Nepra’s public hearing.
After a 15-year poor performance, the power distribution company should not allow to continue work in the port city, he added.
