Nepra clears K-Electric of heatwave deaths in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) team has cleared K-Electric of nay liability in heat wave deaths in metropolis Karachi.

Nepra investigation team probing the heat wave deaths in Karachi has cleared K-Electric of any liability on Sunday. The team said in its report that the deaths have been caused by the intense weather and not load shedding.

The team said that the victims were mostly those people who were exposed to the open sky and severe heat. The report said that the power outages in the city had increased due to the rise in demand.

The team would hand over its initial report to the Prime Minister on Monday.
