ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday suspended the sentence of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds for eight weeks in the Al Azizia corruption reference.
The petition was heard by a two-member bench, comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani.
The court remarked that the Punjab government may be contacted for further extension in the bail within eight weeks time.
The sentence will restore if the provincial government was not approached within the given time frame, the court observed.
