Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former Indian cricketer, politician and host Navjot Singh Sidhu, has received a legal notice of 850 crore Indian rupees for her husband’s claim of recovery from cancer with the help of diet.
According to Indian media reports, Navjot Kaur has been served a legal notice by the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS) seeking an explanation on Sidhu’s claims about diet to cure cancer.
In the notice, she has been asked to provide proof of Sidhu’s claims. The text of the notice said that Navjot Kaur must submit proof of Sidhu’s claims within 7 days or else pay INR 850 crore for the ‘misleading’ claims. In case of non-payment of 850 crore, legal action will be taken against Navjot Kaur.
Navjot Kaur was also asked whether she continued to use only food like neem leaves, lemon water, tulsi and turmeric for her recovery or did she also use allopathic medicines.
The notice said that Sidhu’s claims would create a negative impression in the minds of people about allopathic medicines and treatments, and would force cancer patients to abandon medicine and turn to diet and tips, thereby endangering their lives. Therefore, she should clarify her position on her husband’s statement.
