KARACHI:The Pakistani nation is celebrating the 73rd Independence Day today (Wednesday) as ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ to extend its support to Kashmiri brethren, who are facing complete communication blackout imposed by India since early last week.
People offered special prayers in mosques for the country’s progress and prosperity.
The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital while 21-gun salute in all four provincial capitals, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit.
President Dr Arif Alvi hoisted the national flag at the main flag-hoisting held at the Convention Centre.
