WASHINGTON: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) invited people to send their names to Mars.
NASA will launch a mission to Mars in March, 2016. The InSight mission to Mars is a robotic, stationary lander designed to study Mars geophysics. NASA has invited people to ride along with the lander, or, at least, their names.
NASA announced to register names by September 8, 2015. The mission will be launched on an Atlas V 401 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on March 4, 2016. It is scheduled to land in Mars’ Elysium Planitia (Plain of Ideal Happiness) on September 20, 2016.
