ISLAMABAD: Funeral prayers for martyred pilots and technicians who died in the Naltar helicopter crash were offered at Army Helipad in Gilgit this morning.
Caretaker Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Sher Jahan Mir and other high military and civilian officials attended the funeral prayers.
In the tragic incident, Major Altamish Riaz, Major Faisal Wasim, Naib Subedar Zakir Ali and wives of Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors were martyred. Ambassadors of Norway and Philippine were also killed in sad incident.
The dead bodies were shifted to PAF Base Nur Khan in Rawalpindi from Gilgit via three helicopters.
Top civil and military leadership including the Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif and Air Marshal Sohail Aman were present at the air base to receive the dead bodies.
Families of the victims wept as the deceased were honoured with salutes.
