Naltar chopper crash: Indonesian ambassador succumbs to injuries in Singapore

SINGAPORE: An Indonesian ambassador Burhan Muhammad, who had sustained burn injuries in Naltar tragedy on May 8 , died on Tuesday (today) in one of the hospital of Singapore, he was 58 years old.

He was under treatment at a hospital in Singapore. Almost 70 percent of his body was burnt in the incident when it crashed and set a school building ablaze in the Gilgit area of northern Pakistan.

Ambassador Burhan Muhammad was aboard the military helicopter, along with his wife and a delegation of ambassadors when it crashed and set a school building ablaze in the Gilgit area of northern Pakistan.

His wife, the Norwegian and Filipino ambassadors, and the wife of the Malaysian envoy were killed immediately.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Indonesia’s Ambassador to Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif lauded late Ambassador’s role in promoting friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan and prayed that Allah almighty may bless the departed soul with eternal bliss and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
